Buying a home in five episodes

Task

Anyone who wants to buy their own home has a lot to think about: financing, location, costs. FinanceScout24 wanted to use YouTube to show private buyers what really matters: briefly, clearly and in a way that makes people happy to watch to the end.

Idea

“Eigenheim finanzieren mit Rex und Christian” (Financing your home with Rex and Christian): in each episode, presenter Christian walks through a scenario around buying property, covering different financing options, location and everything you need to keep in mind when buying. Rex the office dog is always there. Each episode hangs its topic on an everyday image: the jungle, the burger, the briefcase, the location, the speculoos biscuit. Five episodes of just over two minutes each, conceived as a series rather than as standalone clips.

Execution

Concept and script, production and post-production for YouTube. Shot in the office, with Christian and Rex at the desk. All episodes share one look and a recurring structure, so the series stays recognisable as a series.

Impact

A series that makes a dry subject accessible. The approach works for any product that needs explaining: insurance, software, energy.
